About Belize
Nestled on the northeastern coast of Central America, Belize spans a modest 8,867 square miles, serving as a friendly neighbor to Mexico and Guatemala. With a shared ancient Mayan history and common ethnic ties to Central America, Belize has been imbued with a lively Caribbean spirit, thanks to the salty air wafting in from the nearby Caribbean Sea. This vibrant essence is evident in the country’s distinctive Colonial/Caribbean-style architecture, coconut-infused cuisine, pristine white beaches, laid-back ambiance, and the presence of English and Creole dialects.
Notably, Belize stands out as the only Central American nation where English is the primary language. Housing a peaceful population of around 270,000 within a secure political environment, Belize thrives as a premier ecotourism destination, enriched by a tapestry of diverse cultures.
